Rana Begum: Catching Colour at The Line, London

Launched 9 April 2022

Rana Begum's new installation No.1104 Catching Colour launched on the 9th April at The Line, London City Island. The installation of clouds of suspended coloured mesh is simultaneously light and monumental, appearing to float above the central pathway of the island's Botanic Square.

The launch of the work was accompanied by an inaugural event, which included a specially commissioned short performance choreographed by The English National Ballet's Associate Choreographer Stina Quagebeur, developed in response to Rana Begum's work. The piece was performed live outdoors in Botanic Square, London City Island. The two dancers were dressed by Begum’s long-time collaborator, designer Roksanda Ilinčić.

Curated by The Line, No. 1104 Catching Colour is a commission by EcoWorld Ballymore.
