Founded in 2002, Kate MacGarry has expanded to represent over 25 emerging and established artists, including two estates. The gallery is in East London at 27 Old Nichol Street, a space designed by British architect Tony Fretton.

Many of the artists had their first commercial solo exhibitions at the gallery and have gone on to achieve international success whilst helping shape the identity of the gallery. In addition to a rigorous exhibition schedule, the gallery’s artists have exhibited at some of the world’s leading institutions including MoMA, Tate, MCA Chicago, Prada Foundation, The Walker, Barbican, New Museum, Bourse de Commerce, Palais de Tokyo, Mori Art Museum, Documenta and the Venice Biennale amongst many others.

Kate MacGarry is a founding and active member of the Gallery Climate Coalition. Formed in 2020, it aims to promote and facilitate the environmental sustainability of the visual art sector and reduce greenhouse gas emissions and waste.
