Part of the UK/Poland Season 2025, the show explores memory, conflict and activism, asking what we remember from the past and where can we find resilience and hope in an ever-changing world.
Works made between 2011 and 2021 trace Macuga’s engagement with resistance and censorship in Poland’s post-communist transition, and the backlash against those who opposed the new regime. Also on view is 'Make Tofu Not War' from the British Council Collection, a large-scale 3D tapestry that opens a speculative space around contemporary political and environmental futures.
