Laura Gannon, Threads of Kinship, He Art Museum, Shunde, China

16 March - 30 June 2026

Laura Gannon's work 'Wild Money' is included in the exhibition 'Threads of Kinship' at the He Art Museum, Shunde, China.

Titled after 'Wild Money' by Maeve Brennan, a columnist and short story writer, Gannon's work speaks both to the materiality of the woven linen and the spaces that are opened up through the cuts. Suggesting an inner and outer dimension, its creases recall human skin, while the filigree pattern of red skeins implies what lies beneath.

Organised in collaboration with KADIST, the exhibition brings together 44 modern and contemporary artists whose works engage with collectivity through material practices of care, autonomy, and chosen kinship across generations and geographies.
